About Pre-completion testing
Pre-completion testing (PCT) involves an accredited acoustician measuring airborne and impact sound insulation on-site using calibrated sound level meters and a standardised source and receiver room method, then comparing results against Part E thresholds. It's the regulatory gatekeeper before a residential development can be signed off by building control, and failing tests can trigger costly remedial construction work.
