Career intelligence
for your institution.

Give every student structured exposure to the real world of work — through observable skills, not personality tests. See what your cohort understands, what they're missing, and where to focus.

What Your Students Get

A tool that builds understanding — not dependency.

Students explore roles through the problems they solve and the skills they require. Every skill is defined as an observable action — something you can watch a person do under real constraints. Career exploration, no prestige hierarchy — and no individual profiling.

01

52 deep role profiles

Each role mapped to core skills, environment, pace, collaboration style, and real-world impact.

02

535 observable skills

Skills defined as actions, not traits. Connected across roles so students see transferability.

03

Galaxy Map

A visual web of roles and skills. Students discover unexpected connections and overlooked careers.

04

Student Dashboard

Personal exploration tracker — roles saved, skills noted, connections discovered. No scores, no grades.

See It In Action

What each user sees.

Three views of the same platform — each designed for a different need.

You've mostly explored sound and signal-related roles. Water Treatment Operator and Air Traffic Controller both share your "Real-Time Problem Solving" skill — have you followed those connections?

Who It's For

Built for education, not recruitment.

Secondary Schools

Give Year 7–11 students structured exposure to the breadth of work before GCSE and A-level choices lock them in. Identify which roles and industries your cohort has never encountered.

Universities & Colleges

Reduce first-year anxiety and course dropout by helping students understand how their skills translate across roles — before they arrive, not after.

Career Services

Replace personality-based matching with a tool that builds genuine understanding of work. Cohort reports reveal common misconceptions and blind spots.

Multi-Academy Trusts

Benchmark career exposure across your schools. Identify which academies have gaps, where resources should be directed, and what's working.

Educator Dashboard

Cohort-level insight. No individual tracking.

The educator dashboard shows what your cohort is exploring — and what they're not. Identify exposure gaps, common misconceptions, and skill blind spots across year groups, without ever profiling or labelling an individual student.

Exposure gaps

See which industries and roles your students have never explored — before choices are made.

Misconceptions

Identify where students systematically overestimate or underestimate what roles involve.

Skill awareness

Track which observable skills your cohort recognises vs. which remain invisible to them.

Engagement depth

Understand whether students are browsing or genuinely exploring — reading role pages, following skill connections.

Privacy by design

All analytics are aggregate. No individual student profiles are created, stored, or shared. No data monetisation. No employer visibility. The product serves education — full stop.

Career readiness has never mattered more.

Employment is shifting fast. These projections — pulled live from the LMI for All API — show what's growing, what's under pressure, and where students have the least visibility.

What this means for schools: students who explore these sectors before GCSE choices are made are better prepared to enter them — or explain clearly why they're choosing something else.

Commitments

What we will never do.

NEVER

No individual profiling

We will never build profiles of individual students, track their behaviour, or sell their data.

NEVER

No employer-paid visibility

Roles are never promoted, boosted, or ranked by employers. The platform is education-funded, not recruitment-funded.

NEVER

Career exploration

We will never tell a student what they "should" do. Understanding replaces recommendation.

NEVER

No prestige hierarchy

A Railway Signaller and a Surgeon are presented with equal rigour, equal depth, and equal respect.

Questions

Common questions.

Is this a career matching tool?

No. MySkillGap does not recommend careers, score students, or generate 'best fit' results. It provides understanding of work — what roles involve, what skills they require, and how they connect. Students make their own decisions.

What data do you collect about students?

Aggregate exploration data only. We track which roles and skills are being explored at the cohort level. We never build individual profiles, track personal behaviour patterns, or share data with employers.

How is this different from existing careers platforms?

Most tools start with the student (personality tests, interest inventories) and work towards a recommendation. We start with the work itself — mapping it accurately — and let understanding drive exploration.

Can we pilot this before committing?

Yes. We're actively seeking pilot partners. Early adopters get free access during the pilot period and preferential terms at launch. We want your feedback to shape the product.

What age groups is this suitable for?

From age 8 upwards. The role profiles and skill definitions are written to be accessible but not patronising. Younger students benefit from early exposure; older students benefit from depth and connection-making.

PILOT PROGRAMME · 2026

Help shape the future of
career education.

We're looking for schools, colleges, and universities who believe career exploration should start with understanding, not matching. Join the pilot and help us build something that actually works.
